Messenger For Hope
By Chlarissa Pope

When holding on is just not enough--

You never know when something may come into your life that will assist you for the rest of your life. That’s what Chlarissa Pope discovered when she picked up a copy of Souls of My Sisters.  “My life has changed for the better,” she explains. In fact, it still causes her to take the necessary life pauses. “When I find myself getting frustrated or down on myself, Souls of My Sisters helps me remember to appreciate the things that I do have and that it is okay for me to take time out for me.”

This was just one of the many life lessons and affirmations that Souls of My Sisters offers. And was the reason Pope decided to develop a “Souls of My Sisters Conference” in Little Rock as a way to impart this vital information onto others as well as create a forum for women to discuss issues,  inspire and support  one another. The turnout was more than encouraging.  “The conference was well-received by those in attendance and even those who had just heard about it,” she says. It was such a success, a second conference is planned. “This year, more young women are looking forward to participating so that they may be encouraged by the strong group of women on the panel as well as in the audience,” says Pope, who gathered even more insight from the conference and a new life goal. “Since the conference, I have been able to reach out to additional women and encourage them to stay on the right path.  I have also begun the activities necessary to develop my own organization that will reach out to women and children in need,” she explains.

Through Souls of My Sisters Pope has become a messenger of sorts. “I feel that there is no point surviving one’s trials and tribulations if they are not going to learn from them and share that knowledge and experience with others who can benefit,” she points out. “There are many young women who are feeling what I have felt.  I need them to know that if they try hard and keep God first, there is light at the end of the tunnel.” Obviously, Pope does not walk alone.
